Miguel Puga

The Artist
About Miguel
Miguel Puga is a visual artist, graphic designer, architect, and art director. He was born and educated in Venezuela, and now lives in the United States. In 2001, after graduating with a degree in Architecture and Plastic Arts, he emigrated to New Jersey, where he still lives and works as an art director.
At the end of 2014, he met the Peruvian plastic artist Juan Ramiro Torres, who invited him to participate in several exhibitions in Union City. As of 2015, he is part of the Collective of Plastic Artists of New Jersey.
Miguel has also been featured in exhibitions at the Union City Art Museum, the Queens Museum, The Shillman Gallery Ironbound, Bergen Community College, Clifton Public Library, the Public Library of Newark and the Newark Museum. In 2017, he participated in the Portugal Day Art Show and won the second prize.
Miguel’s work has been described as surrealist and cubist, for the way he contrasts vibrant colors with black backgrounds and shadows. He paints in a style that fuses his passions for design and architecture, and an appreciation for the abstraction of space.
